I found a pair of old cufflinks from the 40's that had these really cool glass pieces of a covered wagon in them. The cufflinks were in pretty bad shape so I took the glass pieces out to up-cycle into something new.
The design is actually etched into the backside of the glass and hand painted. The glass rests on a slice of Mother-of-Pearl. Now how awesome is this! I decided to incorporate one of them for this necklace piece I designed and handmade.
The pendant piece is 35 mm by 40 mm (1-1/4" by 1-1/2"). The wire rings are soldered and the pendant hangs on sterling silver 18" chain with a toggle clasp for closure.
