Check out this hunk of creamy colored fossilized walrus ivory. I made a simple setting for the piece so the ivory would stand out. I used twist wire around the setting and made the bail out of twist wire, too. It looks like a little lariat. he pendant measures 1-3/4" long x 1" wide (45mm x 25mm).
The turquoise beads I used for the necklace are from the Lone Mountain Turquoise Mine located in Esmeralda County, Nevada near Tonopah. This mine is still producing some nice quality rock. I used some vintage ivory beads to separate the turquoise and used a sterling silver toggle clasp to finish it off. The length of the necklace is 19" not including the size of the pendant.
My hallmark, which stands for “Buffalo-Eagle”, my name, Lita and STERLING is stamped on the back-side of the piece.
