Hope you come back from time to time to see what is going on in the life of this Texas Native Jewelry Artist!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Please enjoy this Holiday Season with family and friends and make it a safe one, too!
I would like to take the time to thank all of my dear customers for their love of my jewelry art and for helping to promote my business! You are all very special to me and I hold you dear to heart.
Below is a beautiful necklace I designed and custom made for a wonderful woman. The necklace definitely evokes a whole lot of LOVE! The charms have her four grandchildren's names stamped on them along with their date of birth on the backside. Two of the charms near the heart have her children's names and the heart charm has "LOVE" stamped on it. Now how precious is that.....

The cooler weather finally arrived along with the State Fair of Texas! Certainly puts a skip in one's step! Makes me feel a bit more energetic and have that taste for Autumn! So, I decided to kick off my Red Creek Jasper Collection.

What a beautiful Spring we are having and I have been one busy silversmith! Up-cycled leather & Turquoise! Get back to Earth Jewelry!
Ahhhhh - the trends of fashion and what's in at the moment... You hear people saying these days that Turquoise is popular and in style. Well, I say, when is it ever not in style and not popular! Turquoise is one of my favorites and hope you will get to liking it, too! I say - Get Back To Earth Jewelry!
So, I have up-cycled some old leather belts and made them into cuffs adorned by a beautiful concho of sterling and Turquoise.

This one is sold.
Chaplets Make Great Gifts for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Baptisms etc etc etc...
About twelve years ago or more, I started making Chaplets (single Decade of the Rosary). It was an attempt to try and do something with all the Religious Medals and Crucifixes that I had collected over many years. At the time I made my first one, I did not think that they would be so popular, but they were and still are. I use genuine stones and hand knot between each bead. I also use olivetti shell heishi in between each bead and finish off the ends with vintage African Trade Glass beads. A majority of the medals, Crucifixes and Crosses are old and these are getting harder and harder to get my hands on at a reasonable cost.
They make great gifts and I have had many customers tell me that they have them Blessed.
Getting some shop time in despite the weather!
I am so grateful that I at least have a little shop to work in, but the only problem is that it is hard to keep warm in the winter and hard to keep cool in the summer. So I have to work around it. Fortunately, I had a few good days in there and here are some of my latest pieces. I just love the "group shot" effect!
Ringing in the New Year!!!!
Literally, I am ringing in the New Year with rings! Something in the air waves and it's all about rings. Seems like everyone these days wants a ring and for that I am truly grateful! So if you think you might want a ring, just let me know. I can create one especially for you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and may you be Blessed in many ways!
A custom order, which features a gorgeous piece of purple Spiney Oyster Shell.

Let's all have a little FAITH and pray the New Year will be a better year for all!

November - Native American Heritage Month
In January, I opened up a little shop through the online Etsy Community www.etsy.com/shop/litapsilverj. After several months of educating myself to Etsy land, I happened upon a Native American Promotion Forum Thread. I started to visit with some of the vendors who were promoting their items on the thread and let me tell you what a wonderful group of people I happened upon. Since my style of silverwork lends itself to a “southwestern” look, they happily took me in as one of the family. As they say, you are only a visitor once then you become family. Joni Stinson is the administrator of the thread and Kicking Bear is our spiritual leader, Tsalagi (Cherokee) language mentor and wise man. Kicking Bear continues to provide us with the name for each new chapter. Our current chapter is Aisvi gvdodi saquu adanvdo (Walking Together in One Spirit). Kicking Bear's shop is www.etsy.com/shop/KickingBear
It was in November 2009 that Ms. Joni Stinson founded the thread in the hopes of promoting Native American or Native American Inspired work. We are all happy to say that the thread is now in its sixth chapter with many new people joining daily. Joni’s shop on Etsy is http://www.etsy.com/shop/jstinson. She creates beautiful hand beaded jewelry and is a most amazing, kind woman and I am very honored to be her friend.
Lovie Dovie - Peace to All
What a great morning! This is the Dove that was feeding in our yard for several months back in 2001. Luckily, our yard is full of life and one reason for my many distractions in my work, yet give me great inspiration. I get caught up taking photos, feeding, and admiring Nature's beauty!
My First Anvil
Here is a photo of my first anvil along with Little Lulu - Indian Princess of my studio. As the story goes, a close friend of our family worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and knew of my interest in making jewelry. He fashioned this little anvil for me as a birthday gift, many many many moons ago, from an iron rail. I still have the anvil as seen in the photo.
