The turquoise featured in this beautiful sterling silver ring I designed and handmade is Nevada Blue Gem. Nevada Blue Gem came from two locations in Nevada, Battle Mountain area (Blue) and the Tonopah area (Blue/Green). Back in the “good ole’ days, the Tonopah mine was very prolific in one of the biggest Turquoise boom periods in the history of Native American Indian Jewelry. Neither of these mines is still in operation and both of these mines had some of the prettiest blue turquoise to ever come out of Nevada.
What a great looking valuable stone this piece is weighing in at 35.5 carats! A beautiful classic piece of old mined Blue Gem turquoise! Bold and stately! I chose to surround the stone with plain bezel. Also featured is my hand stamped artistry on the band and my high polish technique – nice and shiny!
The ring is size 7-3/4. The band tapers from 3/8” (10 mm) to about ½” (13 mm) at the widest. The face of the ring is about 13/16” (20 mm) by 1-1/4 (32 mm).
My hallmark, which stands for “Buffalo-Eagle”, my name, Lita and STERLING is stamped on the inside of the band.
